Hi, everyone!

Argh. I'm so so sorry it took so long to get this update out...a whole month. I was on vacation, yes, but mostly I was lazy, which happens a lot. Anyway, it's out now! Chapter Three of our Round Robin, "Exodus," is embedded below. There will be some babbling and picspam from me at some point soon, I promise on the soon bit!

EDIT: The page-enlarger button is not showing up for me or other people, so here is the link to the page on AuthorStream, where the enlarger works. Sorry, everyone, it was fine earlier today! www.authorstream.com/Presentation/junebug13-214574-legacy-biblical-proportions-ch-3-lbp3-others-misc-ppt-powerpoint/

Express Yourself Prompt Suggestions

Here is where you can post prompt suggestions for us to use over the next few weeks. If you ever think of anything else, just come back to this entry and post another comment - Leon and I will always refer back to this post. The topics are currently "Key Words", "Scripture Verses", and "Biblical Characters".

I was considering adding another topic such as song lyrics, as most of the music I listen to is Christian, anyways. But I understand that not everyone listens to my music, and so most of the song lyrics could end up just being mainstream, taking away from our attempts to try to keep this a Christianity-based writing/picture taking thing. Still, if you think you have enough lyrics that could be classified "Christian", let me know.

Some examples of lyrics: "I'm giving up on doing this alone now. Cause I've failed and I'm ready to be shown how. He's told me the way and I'm trying to get there. And this life sentence that I'm serving, I admit that I'm every bit deserving, but the beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair." - Relient K "Be My Escape"

"Somewhere between the wrong and the right.
Somewhere between the darkness and the light. Somewhere between who I am and who You're making me. Somewhere in the middle you'll find me." -  Casting Crowns "Somewhere in the Middle"

Thoughts on adding Song Lyrics as prompts?

Express Yourself Week Two

"Express Yourself" is the name I am giving to our weekly photoshooting/writing thing.

The idea is to respond to the following prompts (A key word, a scripture verse, and a biblical character) with either a screenshot or a writing piece (much like in sim_spiration or sim_scenes respectively). It is up to you as to which one(s) you decide to do.

1) You may post your responses directly to the savior_sims community as seperate posts.

2) You are allowed to submit as many responses as you like. If you do submit more than one, it is requested that you simply edit your first post to keep all your entries for the week in one spot.

We will try it this way for a while, but I might decide later to go about this differently later on. It will depend on what kind of response we get over the next few weeks.

3) General courtesy that I shouldn't have to get into. Constructive criticism only, please keep it as family-friendly as possible, etc.

4) It doesn't have to be Christianity-based, but that is the purpose of this community, and the prompts will likely lead you in that direction anyways. Likewise, it doesn't have to be related to your legacy or even the sims 2 at all (unless it's a screenshot entry, of course).

5) Screenshots limited to 15 slides, please. Unlike in sim-scenes, you may use words if you like...

These rules are in no way official, as I have not had a terrible amount of feedback from people. If you think something should be changed, please don't hesitate to let me and/or Leon know. So rules are subject to change. Also, if you have any questions, let me know.

And now, for the prompts for this week:

Key Word: Grace

Scripture: "For the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the very Power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18

Biblical Figure: Apostle Paul

Hi, everyone!

The cover for this chapter's pretty messed up. See my LJ for the rant.

I'm sorry this took so long. But I've been distracted and I have final exams this week. And today while typing it up in PowerPoint I was distracted by scary stories, National Treasure 2, and YouTube. After exams the updates should be more frequent.

Please don't think less of me for the messed up cover. All you need to know is the title of this chapter is "Covenant."

Enjoy!

Weekly SAVIOR Discussion #1

Discussion #1

To keep the community alive with ideas and thoughts all the time, I thought it would be nice to create Weekly Discussion Topics to share our opinions about. This week's topic is "How can we incorporate the aspects of Christianity into our Sims writing?"
Many of us don't have stories based on Christianity, but we can all share the ideas of Christianity into writing. Does anyone have any techniques or ideas as to how we can do this? I admit, it's a bit difficult for me to incorporate the basic aspects of Christianity into a legacy filled with magic and witches. ;)

Express Yourself

This is my entry for TRUST. This is actually my third attempt. My first idea was OK, but it refused to flow on paper. The second try was almost done when I read back and it seemed dumb. So here's take three. Please feel free to comment on poor grammar or bad spelling. If you just want to say you like it, that's fine, too :P

WARNING: contains girly, high school angstCollapse )

Express Yourself, Week One - Trust

My entry focuses mainly on the keyword "trust"; I tried to make it focus on Christianity, but I don't think I did a very good job of it.

Express Yourself Week 1

Well here's my first entry into the weekly prompts. I'll be doing writing as I always enjoy flexing my writing skills. I've done other writing prompt communities before and they always had us look at the prompt word and then write about it for 15-30 minutes and at the end of the time limit wrap up the story and post it as is. I hope no one minds if I write that way in here.

And now, for the prompts for this week:

Key Word: Trust

Scripture: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all of your ways awknowledge him and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

Biblical Figure: King Solomon
